I'm Home, Safe and Sound!

Thank you all for your prayers yesterday, and during my entire time in Haiti. I can't even tell you how many times I knew those prayers were at work. That's one thing that I love most about the third world... you don't just know that God is working, you see Him working every day!

Everything went smothly yesterday; I made all my flights, with extra time to spare. I must say, it's good to be home, especially after a day of travelling! Now I'm faced with trying to adjust back into North American culture, which I'm already finding a little overwhelming! haha! I walked into my house last night and the first thing that came to my mind was how rich our house looks! We only have a normal house, by North-American standards, but in Haiti, this would be a wealthy person's house! It's not even so much that it's such a wealthy house... it's just so comfortable. There's multiple TV's, computers, internet that almost always works, phones that always work, hot and cold running water that's clean and safe to drink, as well as no rats, lizards, or cocroaches to worry about. Oh, and did I mention that the electricity is actually dependable in Canada? Yes, we have it really good here, and I just hope that what people have read on my blog, these past few months, will help them realize how blessed we are and that we would all be more willing to reach out and help others that are truly in need, even if it causes us a little inconvience.

I'm so glad to hear you made it home, with a very uneventful trip. Yes, you will likely experience more culture shock going back to Canada than you did when you initially came to Haiti. Just wanted to let you know that you are missed a lot!!!
