Wahoo Bay
Wow! I've had such a busy and amazing weekend! Yesterday I went up to kenscoff to visit another orphanage, and then I went to the Baptist Mission where I had lunch and happened to run into Deborah Baker, who is a missionary from my church back home. After eating and doing some shopping at the mission, we went up to the lookout point and I saw the most amazing view that I've seen since I've been in Haiti! We did some more shopping and them we came home. Then last night we had a bonfire and brought over some of the kids from the toddler house. It was so much fun, cuz the kids had never had a weiner roast before! We all roasted hot dogs and then we played the limbo and danced to music with the kids! They're so hilarious cuz they're just so energetic and enthusiastic about everything!!! It really was a great night!
Then after the kids went home to bed, we all stayed around the fire talking and someone mentioned something about how they would so love to go back to that Hotel we went to last weekend. Then, when Dixie said that would be okay, someone else decided to push her a little further and said how much we would all just LOVE to go to the beach. We were all really suprised when Dixie said that we could go as long as our body guards were willing and able to come with us. So, we called up our friend, Mike, who does the airport runs with us, and he said that him and his uncle were willing to come.
So, this morning, we all piled into the vehicle and headed off to the beach. It was a two and a half hour drive, but well worth it. It was sooo hot there and soo incredible beautiful too! We had a lot of fun just lying in the sun, but I also did some shopping and found a bunch of shells along the shoreline. The water was so beautifully clean and clear and it was so warm that it actually felt like bath water! I was soo grateful to be able to go to the beach, especially since GLA only takes people about once or twice a year! Oh, and the guys in the picture were our body guards. Mike's on the right and Fah-Head is on the left. Fah-Head is Mike's uncle, and I've spelled his name exactly as it is supposed to be pronounced!

Stacey, It looks like an amazing place you spent the week-end at. While you are soooo hot on the beach. My daughter Rachel and I went for a walk on the Ipperwash beach. As far as the eye could see there was ice. The sun felt good and the breeze felt warm. We have a spring flowers popping up. Our first day home from Guatemala we saw our first robin. Yah! I have an early start on my summer tan; although we were inside most of the time we were in Guatemala.
Let Zacary know I really like his horse shirt in the photo on this blog. Lots of love to my boys!
God bless your work and beach time.
Is the sand really as white as it looks. It is great to see you are balancing work with recreation. I'm looking forward to seeing what you shopped for.
Love always
