Hanging with Lisa

It's pretty quiet around here now. All the teams are gone and the two ladies, Joy and Rose, who were down teaching a textiles class, have gone home too. I'm still keeping busy though.

Last week was midterms, and so that provided me with lots of marking to do. I can hardly believe I'm already halfway through my third term of teaching English here!

This picture is of me with Lisa, Marc's wife, who is also teaching an English class a couple times a week. There's such a demand to learn English in Haiti! Realistically, we couldn't have enough English teachers down here... hint, hint....!

Good Friends

This is me with my good friends Myriam. Myriam is not only one of my friends here, she is also one of my English students and a member of the Haiti ARISE church. God has blessed me so much with amazingly godly friends, who have become like family to me, during my time in Haiti.

Things have calmed down around here. We had two teams come down from Briercrest college, back to back, meaning that I was cooking breakfasts and lunches for a lot of people! They each came for a week and it was a real blessing to have them around! The first week, it was the Briercrest basketball team that came down, and so they were doing a lot of evangilism through basketball. Every person who came down on the teams was a blessing to Haiti ARISE and we all hope they come back again!

No Longer A Foursome

The four of us: Steve, Rachel, Rebekah and I have been basically a 'unit' these past six months. Unfortunately, there's a time for everything in life, and last week, it was time for the girls to return to Canada. It was hard to say good-bye, but I know they're happy to be home with their families... and enjoying all the electricity and running water luxuries of Canada! haha! :o)

Rachel and Rebekah, if you're reading this... know that I love you and miss you lots! Our time together in Haiti was amazing and I love you both like sisters!!!
