The River Flowed
GLA has such a beautiful location! It is situated on a small mountain, inbetween two bigger mountains. The first picture here, is part of the view from the balcony. As you can see, the mountains here are quite steep!
Well, the rainy season has officially started here in Haiti, and last night I got absolutely soaked on my way back to the Toddler House! I can't even believe how hard it rained!!! I was walking back with Molly and my roommate, Melissa. It was completely dark and I ended up walking most of the way with my eyes closed because it didn't do much good to open them! It was so dark I could hardly see anything anyways, and it was raining so incredibly hard that when I opened my eyes, the force of the rain made me shut them again.
As you can see from these pictures, the way to the Toddler House is pretty steep, and the rain came down so hard and so fast that we were literally walking in a flowing river of rain! We were seriously walking in rain up to our ankles for most of the way... Molly and Melissa just took their sandles right off and walked the whole way barefooted, but I was scared of cutting my feet on the rocks, so I kept mine on, even though they were really slippery.
When I think back on that walk, it was actually kinda fun... well... adventurous anyways. I was so completely soaked when I got back (not a single inch of me was left dry), that I decided that next time it rains that hard I'm going to shampoo my hair and go stand back out in the rain. There sure was more water pressure out there and the rain was definitely warmer than our showers!

Stacey, I like the idea of the shampoo. If God gives you lemons make lemonaide. If God gives you showers; have one.
Mountain paths are difficult to walk in the rain. In the move "The Jewel of the Nile" They got swept away for a ride of their lives. Hang on tight!
